Swipe to Donate Life Privacy Policy Regarding Registration Statistics

Our product, Swipe to Donate Life, is a mobile app for registering organ donors with state and national donor registries. Countermind recognizes that organ donor information is private and has designed the Swipe to Donate Life mobile app to protect that information.

The Swipe to Donate Life mobile app sends personally identifiable donor information only to state and national organ donor registries for the purpose of registering an organ donor. All communications between the mobile app and the registry are encrypted using HTTPS. Swipe customers who have opted to use the registration statistics reporting option are also opting to share information about the registration event with Countermind, but not about the registrant. The Swipe to Donate Life mobile app will send information about the time and circumstances of successful registrations to the statistics web service hosted by Countermind on a third party server; however, the mobile app does not at any time communicate personally identifiable information about organ donor registrants with Countermind. Any donor information on the mobile device is immediately deleted from the mobile device after the mobile app receives a response from the registry indicating that the information was processed and after the statistics have been updated with the statistics service. In cases where connectivity between the mobile device and the registry is interrupted, a donor's information may be temporarily stored in an encrypted file on the mobile device. That file will be deleted once communication is restored and its contents have been processed by the registry. Although Swipe to Donate Life uses the built in camera to read the barcode on a license or ID card, no image of the license or ID card is captured at any time.
