Tom R. Smith, Chairman of the Board & Founder

Tom has over 28-years of experience in software sales and marketing that includes launching several successful technology based businesses. In his role as Chairman of the Board, Tom leverages his operational experience from his six years as Countermind’s CEO to provide a strategic perspective to Countermind’s executive team. Tom's experience also includes executive management roles in marketing, and sales for software and hardware companies, including Rational Software, Dazel Corporation and Hewlett Packard.

During his 10 years at Rational Software, Tom was part of the initial field sales team and was responsible for growing revenue in a seven state region from zero to over $25 million during a four-year period. For three years, Tom worked at Dazel Corporation as Director of Strategic Initiatives, where he was responsible for launching MetaWeb and was responsible for assessing and acquiring third-party technologies embedded in Dazel's products. During Tom's seven years with Hewlett-Packard he managed a horizontal territory and grew one of Hewlett-Packard's process controls customers into the largest OEM of HP1000 mini-computers.

Tom also brings over 20-years of enterprise software start-up experience including management and executive roles at @hand Corporation in Austin, Texas. During his time at @hand Tom held the positions of VP Sales/VP Marketing/VP Business Development and was directly responsible for @hand's mobile go-to-market strategy and revenue production. In addition, Tom has extensive channel experience and has personally drafted and negotiated hundreds of licensing and third-party agreements with end-users, OEMs and value-added resellers.

Dan Barry, CEO

Dan has over 20-years of experience in management and executive roles, including start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. In his role as CEO, Dan utilizes his previous software product development, information technology, systems integration and product marketing experience to guide Countermind’s business strategies and day-to-day operations. Dan’s past roles include senior management positions in product development and professional services for software firms including Intuit, Kintera and American Innovations.

Most recently, Dan served for two years as Vice President of Product Development at Countermind, and prior to that held the same position at American Innovations, a software company providing risk management software serving the oil and gas industry.

In addition to his Six Sigma certification and training, Dan holds a Master’s Degree in Science from Indiana University and Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
